Teresa Garcia Memorial Nursing Scholarship

The Teresa Garcia Memorial Nursing Scholarship was established in loving memory of Teresa Garcia, a devoted nurse and educator. Teresa earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Oakland Community College in 1978. After serving her community as an ICU and ER nurse, she earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing and returned to OCC where she educated the future generations of nurses for 27 years. This scholarship supports students at Oakland Community College who are pursuing their calling to work in the field of nursing. It is intended to ease the financial burden on tuition so that students can focus on their education and future contributions to healthcare.
