Dr. Vivian Telford Anderson

Vivian Anderson is a Washington state native. She received a B.S. in Zoology from the University of Washington and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Zoology from Utah State University. She has lived in Detroit since 1970 and has taught biology, especially anatomy and physiology at various community colleges and universities in the area. Though her full-time teaching career finished in 2010 at Oakland Community College Auburn Hills, she continued to teach at O.C.C. as an adjunct. She is currently teaching gross human anatomy at the University of Detroit School of Dentistry where her late husband, Larry, taught gross anatomy for 45 years. Two daughters and three grandsons complete her immediate family. In her spare time, she travels overseas, belongs to two book clubs, sings in the church choir, gets a lot of exercises, and speaks fluent French thanks to an amazing O.C.C French teacher. Since 2000 she has taken nearly 60 O.C.C. classes for fun and has loved every one of them!

OCC has been a wonderful part of my professional and personal life and I am so pleased to have the opportunity to give back to this great institution.
