In appreciation of the teaching and friendship, Dr. Don & Alice Nichols started this scholarship in honor of Lee S. Peel.

(Lee S. Peel 1926 – 2006)
Mr. Peel was a retired Farmington High teacher, Mr. Peel was a founder of the City’s Historical Society and served as President and in several leadership capacities for over four decades. Born on a farm in Farwell, Peel had an early goal to attend U of M where he eventually earned B.A. and M.A. degrees. During the 30 years at FHS he taught English and Journalism and directed plays and musicals. His legacy includes a collection of two books, short stories, poems, numerous critical essays, and an unpublished musical comedy.
