Chef Chuck Sansone Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Scholarship
Chef Chuck played a vital role in elevating Continental’s culinary standards. His career began at Hudson’s, Marshall Field’s, and Macy’s, where he was part of the Culinary Council and collaborated with world-renowned chefs including Ming Tsai, Rick Bayless, Todd English, Marcus Samuelsson, and Takashi Yagihashi. As Corporate Executive Chef at Continental and Infinity & Ovation Yacht Charters, he led over 40 diverse culinary operations and served valued clients such as Oakland Community College, Google, Rocket Mortgage, General Motors, Ford House, and Kresge Foundation.
A passionate mentor, Chef Chuck has shaped countless culinary careers. After a life-changing accident in 2015, he became known as The Able Chef, inspiring others through adaptive cooking education and advocacy.
Now retired, he is writing a cookbook honoring his Sicilian grandmother titled I Always Put a Little Love In It (aka BUTTER) and continues to serve his community as a Stephen Minister, volunteer, and advisor. This scholarship celebrates his remarkable career, resilience, and unwavering dedication to the culinary arts.
